How to Install Ubuntu 18.04 on Windows 10 using VMware Workstation 14 Pro? You can install Linux/Ubuntu 18.04 on a Windows 7/8/10 operating system using the VMware virtualization program. In addition, if you are using Windows 10, you can do the Ubuntu 18.04 installation by dual booting. But before doing Dual Boot, we recommend using Ubuntu 18.04 on the virtual machine. Follow the steps below for installing Ubuntu 18.04 step by step. Step 1 Open VMware Workstation 14 Pro and click Create a new virtual machineto create a new virtual machine for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. In the virtual machine setup wizard, select Custom (Advanced), then click on the Next button. In thewindow, make sure that Workstation 14.x is selected, then click Next.
Step 3 Select I will install the operating system later, and then click Next to continue. Step 4 Select Linux/Ubuntu 64-bit for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS installation in the Guest Operating System window and click Next. Step 5 Type the name of the virtual machine and store the Ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine in a different location. Click Next to continue.
Step 6 Configure the processor according to the hardware specifications of your computer and click Next. Step 7 Likewise, specify the RAM capacity of the virtual machine and click Next. Step 10 Select SCSI and click Next. Step 11 To create a new virtual disk for the Ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine, select Create a new virtual disk and click Next.
Step 12 Configure the disk configuration of the Ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine as follows. Configuring the virtual machine’s disk configuration as a single file is useful for performance.
Step 13 Leave the disk file name to be created as default and click Next. Step 14 Open the hardware settings of the Ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine and enable Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVI from the Processors section and close the window by clicking the Close button. Step 15 After creating the virtual machine for Ubuntu 18.04 installation, click on the Finish button.

Step 27 To check the version of Ubuntu, click Settings / About.
How to Install VMware Tools on Ubuntu 18.04 Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation 14? After installing Ubuntu 18.04 with VMware Workstation, open the Terminal on your desktop to install VMware Tools, and then follow the steps below. Once you have the terminal open, switch to root using the sudo su command, and run the apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop y command in Terminal to install VMware Tools.
